Trina Sears Sternstein studied fine arts at the Rhode Island School of Design, the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, Italy, and the University of Iowa. Trina's paintings have been exhibited at the Harrison Gallery, Williamstown, MA; The Community Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; the Newburgh Free Library Gallery, Newburgh, NY; and the Brush Gallery, Lowell MA, as a winner of the Massachusetts Artist 2009 juried exhibition.

Her works have also been shown at the Franklin Land Trust exhibits and auctions in Shelburne Falls and Deerfield, MA; the Limner Gallery in Hudson, NY; and most recently at the Salmon Falls Gallery in Shelburne Falls, MA. In 2017 Trina’s works were selected by the Northampton Arts Council to be displayed as part of the “Motion-Emotion” exhibition at the Hosmer Gallery, Northampton, MA.

Trina works from her studio at her home in Hawley MA, the town where her family first settled in the late 18th century. Her profound connections to her environs, and to the unspoiled natural beauty that surrounds her, deeply inform her work. Trina’s paintings focus on eliciting the moods and feelings that are inspired by being immersed in the natural beauty of the landscape.

“I make up the compositions and attempt to express what I feel about the place where I live in color, tone, texture, line and pattern.”

Trina is represented by Salmon Falls Gallery in Shelburne Falls, MA.
